Gratefulness

by Connie McKnight

Being grateful is something that I practice regularly. I’ve been keeping a gratitude journal since 2005. That was the year I lost my mom and it was a tough year to start being grateful, but I trusted the concept and so I began. In reading back over some of my entries, I ran across one that showed how hard I had to dig one day to find something to be grateful for. On December 10th I wrote: “I am so grateful that I had such a wonderful mother and that she lived such a long life; because of that, I had her in my life longer……”

When I began this blog, I decided I wanted to acknowledge some of my mentors, for I am so grateful to have had them in my life. Even when things are tough, when you take the time to be grateful for what you have, more good things come into your life.

A good friend of mine shared this wonderful video all about gratitude with me and I knew I had to pass it on. Enjoy!

So what are you grateful for? I’d love for you to share your thoughts.

Hi Jake,

I’m glad you took the time to comment now. If you took from the video to respect others, it was a good take. If we all took the time to find something we respect in another, it would make life a lot more pleasant than the judging so many do.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sharing is the best thing we can do as humans and being grateful conveys the message that what somebody has done to you is really worthwhile. Though it is the tiniest thing but it definitely has a great impact.

You hit the nail on the head Jeremy – the tiniest thing can have the greatest impact. It doesn’t take much at all to have a great impact on another.

Hey Connie
That is an inspiring post. Showing gratitude can give a new direction to any relationship and bring more closeness. It is important to show gratitude to the almighty to have given us this wonderful life to live and enjoy. One should not get their ego in between showing gratitude to friends and family. Thanks for sharing this.

Hi Richa,

So many people spend so much time complaining about what so-and-so did. If they spent the same amount of time showing gratitude, it would make a huge difference in the energy they emit. In return, they would be surprised how differently things would turn out.

The ego is very strong, but we can make it weaker simply by accepting what is and choosing not to listen to all the negative stories the ego likes to tell.

Thanks for dropping by.

You are really very nice person and spreading these nice messages is what in my opinion is a good deed for the sake of mankind, I think we all should follow these good deeds to make our self kind.
