Keys to Making Every Day A Success

by Connie McKnight

These keys are based on tips by Vanessa Simpkins author of “From Bankrupt to $900 a Day Selling Mops”. Because I teach network marketing skills and not direct sales, my focus on not on sales. However these keys will help you to be successful at building relationships and attracting the right kind of people into your life.

  1. Make an Intention for Your Day
  2. Get into the habit of predetermining your success; very important. You are a powerful creator! Stop running on autopilot. Take 10 minutes and write down these answers each day.  Who do you want to attract? What kind of interactions do you want to have? Do you want to have a smooth, free-flowing day where everything connects easily? How would you like your day to unfold?

  3. Start with Gratitude
  4. Practicing gratitude is one of the most important rituals you can do to actively invite more abundance into your life. Write down each day — what I am grateful for — I appreciate and acknowledge myself today for — 2 separate lists. This gets you in the energy of RECEVING.

  5. Love Yourself
  6. Take the time to put your needs first — make them a priority. Make sure you eat well, get plenty of rest and take care of pressing matters first so you can really be present with your clients. It’s all about energy, an exchange of energy between two people. Make no mistake that people buy your energy not your product or service.

  7. Dress for Success
  8. When you dress for success you not only send a message to your clients that you are important and are worthy of their respect, but more importantly you also send yourself that message.

  9. Make a list and JUST DO IT
  10. It’s a simple little three minutes that can save you more time than any other trick I know. Set a timer & make your goals and start calling,  adding friends on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or whatever else you do to get in front of your candidates. It helps to start your day with the tasks that are the hardest and most frightening because we tend to make them bigger in our minds than they really are. Then celebrate — the most important part!

  11. Have the Right Tools in Your Toolbox
  12. The biggest secret to success are the energy tools you utilize to help bring you back to my presence and full power. You are going to get rejection, that’s network marketing in general. Your success will be determined by how you navigate rejection and self-regulate your perceptions. What mentors are you listening to?

  13. Remember to deliver value first
  14. It can be easy to get excited about the money but remember your job first and foremost is to deliver real value to your clients. People can feel what your priorities are and if it’s not them, they won’t be opening their wallets!

  15. Have fun!
  16. Make sure there is fun-time planned into your week. Plan in time each week to go and have FUN!

  17. Have the Right Mindset
  18. What are your perceptions on wealth? Expand your mind so you can expand your wallet too:) Cultivate the habit of continually improving your perceptions, beliefs, and mindset around wealth. Invest in your personal development.

  19. Smile — a lot!
  20. Smiling lets people know you’re safe to approach that you are easy going and fun. Bottom line is people like to do business with people they know like and trust. So smile, LOTS. People can feel your smile right through the phone.

I made a similar post last week 16 Tips to Success in Network Marketing that might further help you on your journey.

Do you have an intention for the day or for the week? What’s going to be different than last week?

As a home based entrepreneur, what i usually do to achieve success everyday is by working on the most challenging and important task first. Once this is achieved, i can then work on the other task with less stress and manage them easily. This makes me more productive and by the end of the day, it would let me achieve my daily goals.

Hi John,

Your statement made me think of the example where you think of your tasks as rocks, pebbles, and sand. If the rocks are the most important and you put them in the jar first, then add the pebbles, which are less important tasks, and finally the sand which are the least important. You always have room to add more sand. But if you put the sand in first, then the pebbles, there might not be room for the rocks. I’m very visual, so this helps remind me to do exactly as you said.

I think that #8 is important. If you like your job and think it is fun, its like you don’t work at all! Thanks Connie for a great post.

Olov,
A saying I’ve borrowed from a friend of mine is “It’s important to love what you do and feel that it’s important.” It definitely makes work fun.

Thanks for stopping by the commenting.

I love the last point. Smiling matters even when talking on the phone. Boy, how often have I forgotten about that little but oh so important lesson.

That’s so true Chris. Keeping a mirror on your desk until you’re smiling all the time really helps.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. I appreciate it.

Connie, thanks so much for this amazing reminder! I know that the day I started REALLY practicing gratitude, for what I have NOW and for what the future holds, things really changed for me.

And, I am all about intentions. We can not control another person, but every second, minute, hour, day and so on, we control ourselves!

I’m grateful to YOU today, for this reminder!

EXPECT Success!

You’re so welcome Jackie.

Practicing gratitude is so important, and most of us know it, but we get so wrapped up in our every day lives, we sometimes forget.

Isn’t it wonderful to know that we only have to be concerned about what we can control? It takes a lot of pressure off our shoulders.

Thanks for taking the time to read and comment on my post. I appreciate your input.

#1 is easily the one I enjoy the most. Even things such as my mood and choosing happiness are intentions I set for the day.

#9 is vital as well. Having the right mindset helps see you through the rough times. It won’t be all blue skies and green fields so you have to mentally commit to your project or any aspiration.

My intention for this week is to improve the quality of my inbound marketing channels (for my business). Last week was spent more on content creation and networking.

Thanks, Connie!

I agree totally Jon. By setting our intentions for the day, we determine how the day is going to go. Choosing happiness will make all the difference in the world.

It sounds like you know exactly what you need to do and are going to accomplish exactly that. Thanks for sharing your intentions.

When it comes to sales, I just recently finished reading Brian Tracy 21 ways to become sales superstar.

Lots of these articles resonate from that book, I wonder have you read it. If not I highly recommend it, because it got my headed into that direction of sales.

Focusing on what’s important and repetadly doing it and putting everything else aside until you reach it.

By the way thanks for your comment that you left previously on http://reviewzntips.blogspot.com/2011/01/become-productive-blogger.html

It makes me happy to inspire my readers.

Thanks for the tip Bojan. No I haven’t read 21 Ways to Become Sales Superstar. Focusing on what’s important and repeatedly doing it, sounds like great advice to me. I’ll have to pick up the book.

You’re welcome. I always enjoy your posts.
